WHAT WE DO AT
We educate children, parents, school teachers and recreational coaches through a robust educational system as well as providing cutting edge pedagogical methods to make preparing your child for the challenges of life- easier, more effective and fun.
Gymnastics classes for kids has been proven to boost self esteem in children by helping them overcome fear, gain performance skills, develop a healthy self image and gain social confidence. Besides that, it’s fun, healthy and stimulates cognitive development- specifically for reading and maths!
The focus is to give the children basic floor, acrobatic, dance and jumping skills that form the ABC’s of gymnastics, tumbling, trampoline, acrobatics, stunt work, ice skating, cheerleading, dancing, sports aerobics, circus acrobatics and stage performance.
The Six Step Tumble System is designed to radically develop overall strength, flexibility, speed, co-ordination, stamina and posture training as a physical and psychological basis for increased participation and success in all sports. We have dancers, rugby players, hip-hop artists, swimmers, horse riders, soccer and tennis players, martial artists- and more, benefiting immensely from our specialised conditioning training.
Gym Wizards unique approach to teaching children these special skills also results in enhanced social and emotional intelligence.

Large doses of love and nurturing
Tumbling includes handstands, cartwheels, rolls, handsprings and flips! These classes are perfect for dancers, cheerleaders, martial artists, snowboarders, skiers, skateboarders, actors, divers, or other athletes who are looking for a cross training experience.
This is for children from the ages of 4-5.
This is a 45-minute class where children begin by practicing locomotor skills, such as jogging, galloping, skipping, hopping, chassés and age-appropriate stretching/conditioning to develop their muscles and create flexible bodies.
The lesson integrates crossing the midline (bilaterality) spatial awareness, and important gross motor skills for this developmental stage.
Lastly, they go to the equipment and work on tumbling (floor mats) and mini-trampoline.
This is for children from the aged of 5-6
This is a 45-minute class which provides a perfect combination of fun and fitness. This class includes pre- schooler level tumbling, flexibility, strength training, balance, coordination, and development of age appropriate motor skills. Children practice locomotor skills, such as jogging, galloping, skipping, hopping, chassés and stretching to warm up their muscles and create flexible bodies. Lastly, they go to the equipment and work on tumbling ( floor mats) and mini-trampoline.
The Grade R lessons cover:
- Crossing the midline (bilaterality)
- Spatial awareness, body awareness
- Important perceptual and gross motor skills for this developmental stage
- Strengthening muscle tone,
- Improving concentration
- Balance and proprioception
- Stimulation of co-ordination and agility
The basic physical and thinking skills that gymnastics and motor development involve, promote not only strength, flexibility, co-ordination, and agility, but also develop important thought-processes and perceptual patterns that will be very important in your child’s other intellectual/physical pursuits that are necessary in both school and other sports.
Beginner Gymnastics Classes Ages 6-13 years
Once a week for 1 hour per session. The classes are designed to help each child develop all the basic gymnastics skills at Yellow and Blue Level. Each child is encouraged to progress through the skills and drills at their own pace. Each level takes about 1 year to master but individual children may take longer or shorter depending on their ability as well as the amount of time they practice! When they have mastered all the skills they are ready to move up to the next level. A teacher will inform you when your child is ready to move up. Children are graded on our Grading Award System enabling them to “pass” into the next level.
In addition to the FUNDAMENTAL tumbling skills, children also improve their flexibility, strength, speed, agility and fitness.
Intermediate Gymnastics Classes Ages 6-13 years.
Twice a week – 2 x One Hour Sessions Children come twice per week for a hour at a time (by choice).The skills become more complex, combining various fundamentals and children usually take part in Red or Bronze level. These levels require more flexibility, strength and commitment to progress. When they have mastered the skills they are ready to move up to the next level. Children are graded on our Grading Award System enabling them to “pass” into the next level.
Students usually stay in a level anywhere from a year to two years- but of course this can vary depending on ability and amount of practice!
In addition to the INTERMEDIATE tumbling skills, children also improve their flexibility, strength, speed, agility and fitness.
Advanced Gymnastics Classes
AT SELECTED VENUES AND CLASSES ONLY: PLEASE ENQUIRE
Two x 1 hr Sessions per Week In the advanced classes we focus on building on the skills needed in Silver and Gold level, increasing strength and flexibility to perform all these skills. Gymnasts are required to attend class at least two x 1 hr a week. When they have mastered the skills they are ready to move up to the next level. “Gradings” to pass to the next level happen twice a year.
In addition to the ADVANCED tumbling skills, children also improve their flexibility, strength, speed, agility and fitness as well as their co-ordination!
Classes combine parkour, gymnastics, obstacle course training, and freestyle movement to introduce kids to the exciting world of Ninja Sport! In class, kids learn flips, rolls, jumps, and kicks, in combination with strength and agility courses.
